UC ANR is organizing the next Walnut Short Course, to be held at UC Davis November 5th-7th 2018. This course is a great way to learn everything about walnut culture and production, and get the latest information and research outcome from UC.

Position Description: Student Assistant III (orchard)
The job consists of collecting plant samples and physiological data on fruit trees grown at the USDA, ARS, Davis, National Clonal Germplasm Repository. The NCGR maintains a living collection of fruit and nut trees and grapevines.
Duties include:
Plant sample collecting at Wolfskill Experimental Orchard in Winters, CA. and some responsibilities include preparation and record keeping for a research project.
Requirements: The successful candidate will demonstrate interest in working outdoors with plants. Prior experience working with plants is highly desirable. Must provide their own transportation to and from the repository office (approx. 2 miles west of campus core, no parking fees). Needs to have a current CA driver's license. Must be capable of lifting 25 lbs. and climb ladders. Must be responsible, reliable, punctual.
