Time for the monthly installment of “This Month in the Garden” on the In The Garden with UC Master Gardeners radio show. Spring is creeping up on us! March is the month when almost anything can be planted. But be aware of your location. You could live in a frost-prone area.
Spring rains bring out the snails. Two ways to control them – reduce the areas that provide cover such as boards, stones, and debris and then pick them out by hand on a regular basis.
If you can wait 4-6 weeks to plant a raised bed, try solarizing the bed to kill snail eggs and help reduce weeds! Learn more about March garden tasks from your hosts, UC Master Gardeners and Teena Spindler and Katrina Kirkeby.
