1) Small Business Innovation Research Program Phase I
Application Due Date: October 8, 2015
Eligibility: Each applicant submitting an application must qualify as a Small Business Concern (SBC) for R/R&D purposes at the time of award. Involvement of university through subcontracting arrangements is permitted and may be particularly helpful to small businesses that have not previously received Federal research awards.
Purpose:
Proposed Phase I projects should prove the scientific or technical feasibility of the approach or concept. Projects dealing with agriculturally related manufacturing and alternative and renewable energy technologies are encouraged across all SBIR topic areas. USDA SBIR's flexible research areas ensure innovative projects consistent with USDA's vision of a healthy and productive nation in harmony with the land, air, and water.
2) UC Mexus – Small Grants
Application Due Date(s): August 3, September 7, October 5, November 9 and December 7, 2015
Purpose:
A small grants competition for travel, short-term research, initial planning, or other special one-time needs related to the seed phase of projects or programs conducted by University of California researchers or research teams in the areas of:
- Mexico-Related Studies—All Disciplines
- Latino Studies
- United States-Mexican Relations
- Critical U.S.-Mexico Issues
- Latino and Mexican Topics in the Arts
- Collaborative Research Projects with Investigators at Mexican Institutions
