Dry Creek 4-H Club in Placer County accepted an invitation from the Placer Fair Board to start a garden at the Gate C entrance to the Placer County Fairgrounds in Roseville. Members of the Dry Creek 4-H Club gave Good Day Sacramento a tour of the garden early Saturday morning before they spent the day at the garden participating in an outreach event involving talking to the public and passing out flyers to promote 4-H. Many people stopped by to view the garden, take home a few ideas and tips, and talk to the 4-H members. This project focused on giving back to the community and all food grown at the garden will be donated to the Placer Food Bank upon harvest. Through this project, members were able to work together to plan the details for the garden and practice public speaking skills that will be valuable throughout their lives.
