1) Supplemental and Alternative Crops Competitive Grants Program
Due Date: April 11, 2016
United States does not produce enough canola to meet its consumption needs. Modern canola is a versatile crop with major uses in human and animal food, industrial applications, and biofuels. The purpose of this program is to adapt this useful crop to diverse growing regions in the United States and significantly increase canola production in the United States by developing and testing superior germplasm, methods of planting, cultivation, and harvesting, and then transferring new knowledge to producers as soon as possible.

2) Department of Water Resources Agricultural Water Use Efficiency

Eligibility: Universities and colleges, state, and federal agencies are also eligible for Section B projects.
This grant program will fund agricultural water use efficiency projects.

3) Alfalfa and Forage Research Program
Due Date: April 13, 2016
AFRP supports integrated, collaborative research and technology transfer to improve the efficiency and sustainability of conventional and organic forage production systems. AFRP encourages projects that establish multi-disciplinary networks to address priority national or regional science needs of the forage industry. By bringing together expertise from multiple organizations and states, these projects will have greater impact and will enhance the effectiveness of limited state, federal and industry resources.

4) Outreach Education Technical Assistance Financial Education for FSA Programs Functions Activities
Due Date: July 11, 2016 (Evaluation Period 2)
This RFA seeks proposals to further support and expand the Farm Service Agency's (FSA) existing outreach and education efforts. The additional outreach and education could, for example, be public meetings, training sessions, and/or workshops for producers including new and beginning farmers, veterans, underserved communities, and/or established producers. Emphasis will be afforded to proposals that propose to address producers who are ethnic minorities, women, new and beginning, veterans, urban, or who grow non-commodity crops (e.g., fruits and vegetables or specialty crops).
