I realize this is an older post - but after some research, I believe there is a general lack of available comprehensive data on pollen colors by region. We are currently experiencing a "wildflower year" on the Mojave Desert of California. My honey bees have been bringing in loads of pollen in various colors including ruddy and blood reds; pale and brilliant yellows; violet; gray; brilliant purple; brick orange and various subtler shades of the same colors. I have some idea where some of the colors are originating from; others - not a clue!
