Invasive plants frequently escape from ornamental plantings and are a serious problem in California's wildlands and rangelands. They can cause economic and ecological impacts such as habitat loss for native species, and clogged waterways and irrigation systems.
The newly revised Pest Notes: Invasive Plants, authored by Joe M. DiTomaso, of Plant Sciences, UC Davis; Carl E. Bell of UC Cooperative Extension, San Diego Co., and Cheryl A. Wilen, of the UC Statewide IPM Program, San Diego, Los Angeles, and Orange counties, features updates on invasive plants in California, as well as management strategies. Find this updated publication as part of our Pest Notes series on the UC IPM web page at ipm.ucanr.edu/PMG/PESTNOTES/pn74139.html.
