This week on In the Garden with UC Master Gardeners continues a recurring theme of water conservation as KUCI Staff Host and Master Gardener Katrina Kirkeby talks to fellow MG Gail Rose Lam.
This time around, the focus is on a particular garden style called “Cottage Gardens” – an informal, multi-layered/textured mix of foliage and flowering plantings.
This time, more water-thrifty varieties than are typical for true English gardens are showcased along with non-plant elements to carry through the theme. You will learn pruning tips and guides for mulching and weeding that are important considerations to conserve water in the garden.
