This week, we have two half-hour shows for you! One is essential for your garden this time of year (spring).
Weed and pest control! We will be talking with Cheryl Wilen, PhD about the primary tenet of Master Gardeners regarding integrated pest management.
The key word is “INTEGRATED”. Use the least toxic methods to control weeds in the home garden. Next, learn about one of the strangest plants you can find. They are called Staghorn Ferns! Dr. Ken Schwarz, a UC Master Gardener, talks with our show host Mark Fierle about his passion for those huge (or not so huge) plants that look like moose or stag horns growing out of a board.
Ken will let you know how to care for these ancient plants that don't need soil. And he'll describe how to mount them onto the surface you plan to use to display your staghorn.
