Hi Cheryl- Nice article. You might consider that landscape often include aquascape features (i.e. ornamental ponds, fountains, etc. of various scales). The plants surrounding aquaecapes can affect the sustainability of those features (nutrient runoff, sloughed organic materials (e.g. leaves)..., and of course, preventing use of invasive aquatic/wetland plants is first decision.  
Aquaecapes are still among the fastest growing "backyard" features.
