The University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) Master Gardener Program is excited to announce a partnership with the Stanislaus County Library! Our program is offering free classes on container vegetable gardening at several local branches.

If you've always wanted to grow vegetables, but don't have the space, this class will help you get started. You'll learn which vegetable plants grow best in containers, which size container to choose, and how to plant, care for, and harvest warm season vegetable crops. This is a great class for beginning gardeners. Attendees will receive free seeds.

I did a Master Gardener class in Missouri and loved it! Now that I live in Stanislaus county I want to learn about my area. I'm a very beginner gardener. I'm interested in small space gardening and hydroponics as well as diseases and damaging insects in Stanislaus county.
I'm wondering since there is a Stay At Home order if you will be doing any online classes or if I could just order a Master Gardener book.

Hi Beverly, thanks for your comment and questions. Our Master Gardener class started in January and is still in progress. We have transitioned to online learning. We plan to training more Master Gardeners in the future.
