Great read
I too am in love with pomegranates
I sometimes use my lemon squeezer to crush the arils for juice
We love them whole in champagne or cocktails
I got one pomegranate from my 4 year old bush this year. What a treasure

Great article Sharon - a beautiful fruit that always seems so Christmasy and I totally get the part about kitchen stains everywhere!

Thanks for the article. My 4 year old pomegranate tree just started producing. Is there a recipe for Pomegranate Jam? I would like to preserve the goodness of the whole aril.
Thanks
Peggy

Hi Peggy - Here is an answer from one of our Master Food Preservers, Dayna Ravalin: There are no tested recipes making pomegranate jam, but there are tested recipes making pomegranate jelly using the juice from your pomegranates. The seeds of the arils are too prolific and would cause an inferior product. Here is a recipe for making pomegranate jelly from the University of Utah Extension.
