Dear Colleagues,
UCOP Research & Innovation, the California Natural Resources Agency, and the Office of Planning and Research are hosting the UC Wildfire Resilience Virtual Research Symposium on June 4th from 8 am to 12pm PT.
Join UC's expert researchers to learn how their cutting-edge work on wildfires can help California achieve its wildfire resilience and recovery goals.
Wildfires and their aftermath impact all Californians and cost the state hundreds of millions of dollars every year. How can we plan for and prevent wildfires, address them quickly to minimize damages, and ensure equitable recovery? UC research can inform this vital work.
In this inaugural symposium, researchers from UC's campuses and national laboratories will discuss topics including:
- The Role of Wildfire in Cascading Disasters
- Science and Policy of Controlled/Prescribed Burns
- Advanced Firefighting Technologies
- Wildfires and Climate Justice
