Each second Thursday of the month, the Impact Collaborative's Extension Skills series will provide an opportunity for Cooperative Extension professionals to build capacity with tools, processes and tech skills training. 

DroneCamp 2024
June 24-28, CSU Monterey Bay, plus a virtual option

Now in its 8th year, DroneCamp is a five-day short course covering everything you need to know to get started using drones for mapping and research. Taught by a team of instructors from eight universities and colleges including ANR, the curriculum covers equipment, safety & regulations, flight planning, manual and autonomous flight, photogrammetry, data processing, data analysis, data management and research talks (see also video highlights from 2023). New for 2024 will be a track for educators. A limited number of registration fee scholarships are available for ANR employees. 

2024 National Urban Extension Conference

The professional development conference will be held at the Renaissance Downtown Nashville, Tennessee. The professional development conference will continue to build on NUEL's (National Urban Extension Leaders) focus areas along with an administrative track.

2024 Grant Essentials Summit – Register now!

Register. Who Should Attend: The summit will bring together UC ANR academics and staff from a wide range of disciplines, offering a grant-writing program focused on the essentials of successfully securing grant funding. Academic participation will be prioritized as space is limited. 

What to Expect: The Grant Essentials Summit will offer sessions focused on the essentials of successfully securing grant funding – learning best practices in grantsmanship, understanding funding agencies, articulating your project plans, building partnerships, and collaborating teams, and establishing relationships with agency program officers. Examples will be drawn especially from USDA and NSF, but we will also explore other funders. Participants will engage in a number of interactive exercises and discussions, including strategies for developing competitive proposals.

Presenter: Atkisson Training Group. ATG specializes in providing training on grant writing and grant skill development. Their goal is to help people initiate projects, programs, and positions with the tools needed for long-term growth and success.

UC ANR Workplace Inclusion and Belonging (WIB) website is launched!

This unit works across all of UC ANR to collaboratively support the vision of an inclusive workplace that fosters an environment where each colleague feels respected, appreciated, and valued. WIB will partner to address organizational culture through an equity lens to develop initiatives, policies and trainings that further build an equitable, diverse and inclusive community to further the UC ANR mission and vision. 

The UC Davis  Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Education Program 
offers its Dialogues on Diversity series of courses to UC ANR employees. These include

The Main Event will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024. Virtual Pre- and Post-conference group/1:1 coaching opportunities will be held June 10, 11, 12 and 14

The course also incorporates a strengths-based approach, in alignment with our department's emphasis on CliftonStrengths, to help empower teams and individuals.
