Financial Management Series for Volunteers
This series gives you the skills and knowledge needed to handle the financial aspects of 4-H Youth Development Programs. You'll learn about:
- Financial management basics
- Setting up and authorizing bank accounts
- Planning, fundraising, and managing resources
- Handling gifts, scholarships, animals, and firearms as gifts
- Financial reporting and compliance
- Responsibilities of 4-H Unit and VMO Treasurers
- Managing excess funds, disbursements, taxes, and property.
This series is designed for California 4-H adult volunteers with financial roles, such as Club Leaders, VMO Treasurers, and Treasurer Advisors.
*New modules will be added throughout the 2024–25 program year. You'll receive a certificate and badge after completing all 7 modules.

The 2023-2024 4-H Youth Development Program year ended on June 30, 2024.
The ZSuite online enrollment system is currently unavailable in preparation for the 2024-2025 program year enrollments.
The projected date families can log in to ZSuite and enroll for the 2024-2025 program year is noon, July 18, 2024. Please note that this date is subject to change. The information will be updated if that happens.
The returning volunteer training, the new volunteer interest survey, and the new volunteer training are available now. The links are in the Adult Volunteer Enrollment page.

Fall 2024 Online Workshop Series for 4-H Project Leaders
Free online series (using Zoom) provided by the UC 4-H Volunteer Workgroup.
The full series consists of 8-hours (4 sessions, each 2 hours)
Wednesdays in September 2024
For: New 4-H volunteer educators serving as project leaders.
To: Learn how to plan and facilitate 4-H learning experiences (projects) with young people in community 4-H club projects, after-school club programs, day camps, special interest (SPIN) clubs, teenagers-as-teachers (teens-as-teachers) programs, and other educational experiences. In the four-part series, 4-H volunteer educators learn about their roles, responsibilities, lesson planning, making learning engaging, working with youth, and effective hands-on learning. Virtual sessions cover content from The UC 4-H Volunteer Educators' Guide: For Volunteers Facilitating 4-H Educational Experiences (published in 2023).

Session 4: Creating effective youth-adult partnerships & Working with youth leaders (Junior and Teen Leaders)
Participation: Complete the full four-part series to earn a certificate and 4-H volunteer name badge. They will be mailed to your UC cooperative extension county 4-H office.
