Nitrogen Management Plan worksheet
All Ventura County growers are now required by the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board to fill out the Nitrogen Management Plan (NMP) worksheet.
At this time, the NMP worksheets are not required to be submitted to the regional board; they need to be kept on farm. Also, there are no limitations on how much N fertilizer can be applied to a crop/year, however, fields/crops with large discrepancies between total N applied vs N removed may be targeted by the regional board in the new Ag order (sometime in 2022).
Please check the Farm Bureau's VCAILG website for complete details on the Nitrogen Management Plan and other regulatory requirements for Ventura County.
