Growing In Your Garden Now - Fava Beans

Use cover crops such as fava beans in the fall.

As your summer crops come to the end of their season consider what you can do with the space. Some of us plant a variety of greens to harvest over the winter but others choose to plant a cover crop such as fava beans. This legume has the benefit of adding nitrogen to your soil and will help to protect soil from heavy rain.
