Growing California Natives

If you want to do something super good for your garden and the environment consider adding some native plants.  California is blessed with over 4000 species so there is much to choose from.  Natives attract many beneficial insects, such as butterflies, hummingbirds and pollinators that nurture nature.  And the other good news is native plants are mostly drought tolerant.  The Marin Chapter of the Native Plant Society, CNPS, will be at our Falkirk Gardens October 15 with advice and wonderful plants for sale.  Fall is the very best time to plant when the rainy season arrives so plants can establish their root system naturally.
