Welcome-Who Is This For And How Will It Help Me?
A Well Communicated Evaluation Plan Is Key to Fundability
Following the formats recommended in this toolkit will greatly improve your chances of receiving IPM funding by effectively selecting and describing two important scoring criteria used by IPM grant panels in rating your proposal:
- Your evaluation plan objectives, indicators and methods
- How the evaluation objectives meet the IPM Road Map priorities
Evaluation is the systematic measurement of program inputs, process, outputs and outcomes. It also can be called Assessment.
Evaluation is an essential part of your project's accountability to the Grantor.
How Will This Help Me?
We hope that this resource will allow researchers and extension scientists with a background in agriculture or natural science with little or no prior training in impact evaluation methodologies used in the social sciences to be successful in preparing proposals, obtaining funding and conducting biological studies requiring impact assessment.
You will raise your basic skill level in evaluation. It will allow you to start at a higher level when you are ready to integrate an evaluation specialist or economist into your evaluation process.
Who Is This Toolset For?
This toolset caters to Integrated Pest Management (IPM) biological scientists working in agricultural, structural, urban or natural settings (relevant examples included), but could be useful to any biological scientist conducting impact assessment evaluations.
This resource is for researchers and extension scientists with a background in agriculture or natural science, who are preparing proposals for conducting studies requiring impact assessment evaluations.
It is particularly designed for biologists with little or no prior training in impact evaluation methodologies in the social sciences or economics. A basic course in statistics will be helpful to the reader but not required.
