Goldspotted Oak Borer Curriculum, Grades 4 and 5 (PDF Download-Revised 4/2014)

This curriculum provides four lessons for students in Grades 4 and 5 on the goldspotted oak borer and oaks. The lesson packet includes teacher background reading, student reading and activities and meets science and Common Core Standards.Lessons cover GSOB life cycle, citizen science activity to collect field data, disruption of "transportation in trees," and oak community food webs. Developed by the San Diego Children and Nature Collaborative with support from CAL FIRE Urban Forestry.
