The goldspotted oak borer (GSOB; Agrilus auroguttatus) has killed tens of thousands of oak trees in San Diego County, leading to dramatic reductions in aesthetic quality, property values, and value to wildlife. This webinar, hosted by the University of California Cooperative Extension, will present timely information on oak woodland restoration issues and practices that may be used this fall and winter in areas impacted by the goldspotted oak borer and other places in southern California where restoration of oak woodlands is a concern. Topics discussed will include an overview of the goldspotted oak borer problem and interest in restoration; oak woodland values, assessment and monitoring; consideration for oak management plans and projects; oak regeneration tips and techniques; and presentation of a local case study.
