Our Story

Working Towards a Better Tomorrow

4-H is a youth development program that was created in 1902 to teach future generations techniques that they could us in the real world. These techniques fall into three areas: civic engagement, leadership, and life skills.

The San Bernardino County 4-H Youth Development Program was chartered on January 1, 1957. Currently the program has 9 fully chartered clubs and several special interest programs. With a variety of projects and events offered in the program, there is a learning opportunity for everyone.

4-H promotes hands-on learning and utilizes the volunteer skills of parents, community partners, and other youth organizations. 4-H welcomes all youth and adult volunteers from all backgrounds and all locales regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, pregnancy, physical or mental disability, medical condition, ancestry, marital status, age, sexual orientation, citizenship, or status as a covered veteran.

The University of California 4-H Youth Development Program engages youth in reaching their fullest potential while advancing the field of youth development.

Experience San Bernardino County 4-H

Did you know that young people can choose to learn about anything that interests them and, while gaining knowledge on that subject, also acquire essential life skills, such as community service, compassion, and care for others? 4-H is a youth development program that offers this opportunity to children and teens aged 5 to 19.
