Who are the Master Gardeners?

Master Gardeners are community members who have been trained under the direction of the University of California Cooperative Extension. Each volunteer has completed more than 50 hours of formal classroom training. Master Gardeners help the Cooperative Extension office provide practical scientific gardening information to the home gardeners of the Lake Tahoe Basin.

How we serve the Lake Tahoe Basin area:

Free Public Classes: We offer classes on a variety of topics in the summer months. We are available to answer your questions during breaks and after class. See our class schedule for more information.

Periodical eNewsletters:

Information Booths at Local Events: Master Gardeners staff information booths and give demonstrations at various community events. Look for us at the various Farmers Markets, Earth Day Events and more.

Our Mission

Lake Tahoe Master Gardeners strive to meet the horticulture needs of Lake Tahoe Basin gardeners through development and implementation of programs that transfer research-based knowledge and information using volunteers who have received training and certification from the University of California.
