Biography

Lindsey began serving as Interim Director of South Coast Research and Extension Center (SCREC) in May of 2024. Prior to working at SCREC, Lindsey worked at UCCE San Diego as a Staff Research Associate. She primarily worked with the Area IPM Advisor, Eric Middleton, on an urban agriculture project looking at the feasibility of growing high value crops in small-scale urban settings in Southern California. 

Lindsey holds a PhD in plant pathology, which she obtained at UC Riverside. In graduate school she studied the soilborne fungal disease Macrophomina charcoal rot on strawberries and conducted her field work at SCREC. Prior to graduate school, she obtained a BS in microbiology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where she worked at the Cal Poly Strawberry Center.
