Sacramento Meet the Buyer Tour

Meet produce buyers around the region and build new sales relationships with local grocers, produce distributors, restaurants and more!  Get a head start on next season by establishing new relationships directly with buyers who care about sourcing locally and prepare for next season's plantings based on local market needs.

I understand that I am being asked to read each of the following paragraphs carefully. I understand that if I have questions or wish to discuss any of the terms contained in this agreement, I may contact Li Schmidt at UC SAREP at lnschmidt@ucdavis.edu or (530) 752-7541.

Waiver: In consideration of being permitted to participate in any way in the tour taking place on February 11th, 2019, hereinafter called “The Activity,” I, for myself, spouse, heirs, personal representatives, estate or assigns do hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue the Releasees  (The Regents of the University of California, CSU Chico, UC Cooperative Extension, Farm Credit West, Produce Express, General Produce, and Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op), their officers, employees, and agents from liability from any and all claims including the negligence of the Releasees, their officers, employees, and agents, resulting in personal injury, accidents or illnesses (including death), and property loss arising from, but not limited to, participation in The Activity.

Assumption of Risks: Participation in The Activity carries with it inherent risks by its very nature that cannot be eliminated regardless of the care taken to avoid injuries and/or illness. The specific risks vary from one activity to another, but the risk range from (1) minor injury and illness, such as bruises, broken bones, and dehydration, (2) major injuries such as eye injury or loss of sight, joint or back injuries, heart attack, and concussions, and (3) catastrophic injuries, such as paralysis and even death.

Indemnification and Hold Harmless: I also agree to indemnify and hold The Regents of the University of California, CSU Chico, UC Cooperative Extension, Farm Credit West, Produce Express, General Produce, and Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op harmless from any and all claims, actions, suits, procedures, costs, expenses, damages and liabilities, including attorney’s fees brought as a result of my involvement in The Activity and to reimburse them for any such expenses incurred.

Severability: The undersigned further expressly agrees that the foregoing waiver and assumption of risks agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the law of the State of California and that if any portion thereof is held invalid, it is agree that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect.
