Thank you, Tina! I have been fretting over these little cups of gold in our own garden. We love them too but they have a tendency to 'divide & conquer'! Thanks to your article I feel a little more confident about renegotiating their land rights. Thank you!

I tried planting poppies from seed on the edge of my garden early this summer and none came up. Then I tried planting them in an ice cube tray covered with saran wrap indoors and a lot of them sprouted but I was unable to keep them alive after I transplanted them to the garden. And for other gardeners they are almost a weed? Send them over here to Dixon!!

I suggest planting them again in the fall just before the rains and cover the seeds with a light mulch, then let the rain take care of the rest. They do not transplant well, so don't feel too bad.
