I looked at my calendar today and saw a notation, “blog due”. I thought, “What have I seen or where have I been that might be interesting to write in a blog?” The answer really was not a thing. So here is a blog about, well not much.
Those of us that still have lawns are watching them turn brown. Some lawns have patches of green, so I am sure a blog on the drought is out that has already been done. My lawn is starting to resemble a checkerboard brown and green; it fits in with most of the lawns in my neighborhood but not all.
I have plants that are really stressed. You must have some that are also stressed? Some plants, especially my hydrangeas, would like to be able to get to the hose every day if they could, with their sad-looking, wilting branches and leaves. My salvias, a very drought tolerant plant, however, with the few days we had 100 plus temperature, would be right in line behind the hydrangeas, maybe fighting them to be first.
If we can hang on until winter, I have heard we are maybe looking at a very wet winter—we can only hope that is true.
I have no pictures attached for this blog, as I said it's a blog about nothing.
Until then the sign I saw one business fits for now: “BROWN IS THE NEW GREEN.'
