Twenty years ago I planted a 5-gallon tulip tree in my front yard in Benicia. I tilted it slightly into the wind and it has grown into a straight mature tree about 30 feet tall and 20' wide. It gets water from the adjacent lawn and is pretty healthy. Now I am taking out the lawn and will need to figure out a reliable way to give it water in the dry season. I see other tulip trees by Raley and Southampton Park that are not getting regular wAter and they look stressed.
