This blog entry is not about live flowers, but about a public art installation where brightly-lit, colorful images of flowers are projected onto the exterior walls of one of San Francisco's most iconic, multi-dimensional buildings--the Conservatory of Flowers--in celebration of the City's 50th Anniversary of the Summer of Love. This public art installation is called "Photosynthesis" and runs from June 21, 2017 to October 21, 2017. Because darkness is necessary to be able to view this public display, the light show at top the hour at dusk and runs in 30-minute intervals thereafter. The display is outdoors, and best of all, is free. While the weather is cooperating, bring a picnic blanket, dinner, and enjoy an evening light show, which may be nostalgic for those who came of age in the 1960's.
