Schussel's Home

Garden Theme: Birds, Bees, Flowers and Trees: a landscaped refuge for all living things.

Garden Tour pic3-2015
We built our home in 1989 and it has been a refuge for wildlife, including neighborhood dogs and children! We started our landscaping before we completed building our home. In-between raising our children we always found time to “play” in the garden. Gardens have a way of bringing people together. Our grassy areas provided space for birthday parties, rehearsal dinners, croquet, badminton and horseshoes. Our love of antiques spilled out of our home to our yard in the way of art, planters and birdhouses.

Along with the herb garden, water feature, and square foot garden for veggies our recent addition is a weaving center. Our Mason Bees help keep everything pollinated. The forest thinning in our area has changed the light and now we spend time giving the plants extra TLC and moving them around to happier environments.
