U rock!!! This is 3xactly the answer to question I looked online for, I googled: will small container stunt large sunflower. Yep, I don't give a rip, I need to plant them and not all of them have large large large tubs so this smaller stuff I have left over will be even more ideal because it will give my privacy screen foliage perhaps a few cute cheery blooms lost down than way up in the air. Thank you.

so how is it that you actually stunt the growth of the regular sized sunflower please? I have planted some seeds in a planter box (small one) so i wish to retard their height but hope to have them flower too. Is it by cutting and topping of as they grow and when do i do it please. Let me know how to stunt them

Sebastian - By limiting the root growth in a small planter, it limits the plant size. It will still flower. Kathy

I only have a small balcony garden so I bought some planters and only did single seedling plants in them because I wanted them to be as big as possible but they're TINY! It makes me laugh every time I see them - I must have gotten dwarf seeds and didn't realize ☺️
Either way, I appreciate this post because I honestly had never looked up about sunflowers before I planted them ( I was just trying something new) so having a first hand similar account helped with understanding what to do different for another time. Thanks for the post!
