Monarch caterpillars eat poisonous milkweed which make them very not very tasty to prey.

Yes, they're not very tasty but they still eat them. Thankfully, once they find out how awful they taste, they won't eat as many of them.

Intermountain Nursery has three species of local milkweed available, Narrow-Leaf Milkweed, Purple Milkweed and Woolly Milkweed.
