Any idea when the second round of comments might happen? I think the Master Gardeners would weigh in on such a thing-and probably IPM.

Hi,

I’m coming into this quite late but somewhat I can tell this regulation actually passed correct? I’m an entomology master’s student at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

Update: As of October 1, 2018 the state only requires collecting permits for endangered or listed insect species or collecting in state or federal parks, according to Lynn Kimsey, director of the Bohart Museum of Entomology. They essentially dropped the permit requirements.

As a retiree with about 50 years of experience in collecting and monitoring various insect populations in California, I am quite shocked to hear this proposal. Thanks to Lynn Kimsey, and crew, for their input to the "perhaps over zealous regulators."
