I have an american elm tree with a bad circumference of 10’ 7”
It has always had a robust canopy. This year it has produced perhaps half the leaves as past years.
I am a bit concerned about the healt of the tree and would greatly appreciate your thought as to what is happening.

Blog Editor's Response: This would be a good time to contact the Help Desk at UC Master Gardeners in Concord for full advice beyond this blog... The HD can be contacted Mon-Thur 9-noon by phone, email (any time), and in person Mon-Thur 9-12... see details at http://ccmg.ucanr.edu/Ask_Us/

While the HD can provide some basic information on this topic, the common answer will probably be that you cosntact an arborist for advice. Certified Arborists can be found at https://www.treesaregood.org/findanarborist
