A nice post! But a couple of comments:

1. You list "Marvel" as a Type A variety but your reference on flowering behavior says it's a Type B.

2. The second link does not work because "ucanr" is misspelled as "ucar" i.e. http://homeorchard.ucar.edu/Fruits_%26_Nuts/Avocado/

Do avocado trees ever have thorns? I have some trees growing up in pots on my atrium that I don't know what they are. They may be from avocado seeds that I planted and forgot. They have grown up to about 4-5' in height on about 1/2" or less base stems. But they have thorns close to the bottom & up the stem about 2 - 2.5'. Could these be young avocado trees?
