Great article and so timely. You should make a presentation to the Modesto Garden Club on this timely topic. I have several species of mushrooms in my lawn and garden right now.

Great article Denise, but it did bring back a memorable 1971 movie with Clint Eastwood in the "Beguiled".

Excellent article, thank you for writing about the wonderful world of fungi! For anyone who is interested and lives in or near Stanislaus County, I will be teaching a Mushroom Growing for Beginners class at Modesto Junior College. It is hosted by MJC's Community Lifelong Learning Department and is open to anyone who wishes to take it. Being an MJC student is not required. I will post a link to the class below or information can be found on the MJC.edu website. Thank you.

Hi Denise. I enjoyed learning more about mushrooms. I would love to know more since there are so many different kinds coming up in my yard. It was fun to put together what we are learning about fungi in general and seeing the difference in the visible fungi that we call a mushroom.
