Every year I'm stunned by my neighbor's Ginkgo biloba trees. These two trees put on a beautiful show just when most deciduous trees and shrubs have dropped their leaves. I've been admiring them for over 28 years (that's when we moved in, and they were full grown then). They consistently look radiant every December with their beautiful bright yellow fan-shaped leaves. These hearty trees are quite disease resistant, long-lived, native to China, and are commonly called maidenhair trees. Mature trees can easily be 50 feet tall and 30-40 feet wide, and I don't have that much space, or I'd plant my own.

The sun broke through the clouds one afternoon and I snapped this photo. Amazing!
