Sharon, I have one tomato plant left in our garden too. It looks like hell, but it's still producing. Each day, I go out there and pick the fruit. It's a yellow pear-shaped grape tomato. I was hoping it'd go until Thanksgiving, but I think the predicted cold snap will do it in. I mourn the summer garden each autumn. :(

Don't worry, Sharon. I'm still picking the last green beans, the last crookneck squash and the last lemon cucumber amidst the shriveled powdery mildewed stalks, not to mention the last tomatoes. As long as they're producing I'll leave them out there til the first frost warning. Why not, I say.
