The leaf-footed bugs in your great photos are Leptoglossus zonatus. The distinctive character for this species is the two yellow ovals on their pronotum. L. clypealis has a distinctive needle like spine between its eyes... on the tip of its nose or tylus. According to the home owners I have spoken with here in Fresno, these leaf-footed bugs can and do pierce the fruit with their proboscus and damage the internal seeds. Lastly, I should mention that occasionally I will find one L. clypealis mixed in with a larger population of L. zonatus, but the latter is the dominate species in pomegranate trees in the SJV as far as I can tell from my limited three years of experience as staff entomlogist for Fresno County Dept of Ag.
