UC Cooperative Extension's mission supports research and education in all of California's counties. 

As part of a statewide network, we provide research-based knowledge and solutions for our local communities in Inyo and Mono counties. (Learn more about our statewide activities here.)

Our office administers the 4-H Youth Development Program as well as the Master Gardener and Master Food Preserver programs. We also have UC Advisor available to assist you in areas of Agriculture, Horticulture, and Community & Economic Development.

 

Our Programs

4-H Youth Development Program

4-H is the University of California's youth development program. 4-H helps young people discover and develop their potential. This volunteer-led program has been providing educational and enrichment experiences in California since 1913.

UC Master Gardener Program

The Inyo-Mono Master Gardeners' mission is to share knowledge and experience with the public through outreach programs in education, horticulture, and gardening.

UC Master Food Preserver Program

The Inyo-Mono Master Food Preservers' mission is to share research-based information on food safety and safe food preservation. Master Food Preservers provide education through workshops, demonstrations, and outreach throughout Inyo and Mono counties.  

Farm Advisor

The Inyo and Mono county Farm Advisor is here to help enhance  agricultural productivity and competitiveness, improve food safety, protect the environment, and develop healthier families and communities here on the east side. Our local office is your link to the University of California network of research and extension for any area of agricultural activity, but we have local expertise in horticultural crops and small-scale production.

Community and Economic Development Advisor

Our local CED Advisor is dedicated to improving opportunities to grow our local economy, establish new connections, and improve our quality of life. This program serves the Eastern Sierra from Ridgecrest to Topaz and is located in the Bishop office.
