Biography
Katie Panarella is the Director for Nutrition, Family and Consumer Sciences (NFCS) at the University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) and designated Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Program Leader. She is responsible for the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) and leads the statewide UC Master Food Preserver Program in addition to administering the CalFresh Healthy Living, UC program. She is programmatically responsible for the NFCS Cooperative Extension advisors. These programs, staff and academics are extending and developing research-based information that promote healthy people and communities, safe food and prosperous Californians. She has a B.S. in Environmental Economics and Policy from UC Berkeley and a dual MS Food Policy and Applied Nutrition and MPH in Nutrition from Tufts University.
