Fashion Revue General Information
4-H Fashion Revue Objectives
California 4-H Clothing and Textiles Project offers an exploration of science and art through clothing design, engineering, technology, and skills development. Challenge and express yourself by creating unique looks to share on the 4-H Fashion Revue runway. Youth Will (Optional participation opportunity)
- Construct or repurpose an outfit for competitive evaluation in one of several categories
- Model their ensemble with chosen accessories for a "Total Look"
- Apply their knowledge and skills in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) through the operation and programming of sewing equipment, sewing tools, and identification of materials and their characteristics
- Learn the application of various art techniques which include, but are not limited to, mixing and combining materials/chemicals for use in outfit designs Youth Experience
- Educational activities to enhance learning and growing in citizenship, leadership and life skills
- Appreciation of clothing, textiles, consumer science, and personal development
- Growth in self esteem through individual expression
- An opportunity to develop technical skills, clothing designs, and craftsmanship
