Patrick Weddle
Patrick Weddle earned his BS and MS degrees in Entomology at the University of California (UC) at Berkeley in the 1970's. During his studies, he interacted with the pioneers of integrated pest management including Drs. Ray Smith, Robert van den Bosch, and Vernon Stern. Following graduation, he worked 2 years as a UC Cooperative Extension Farm Advisor in Eldorado County, CA, where he provided information to pear and apple growers. Afterwards, Mr. Weddle became an independent IPM consultant and was president of Weddle, Hansen and Associates, Inc., for almost 30 years. The last 10 years of his career, he was a technical representative for the Pacific Biocontrol Corporation, which provides pheromone-based products and techniques for insect management via mating disruption.
