REMINDER: Feb. 28 is deadline for WEDA award nominations

This a friendly reminder that I am soliciting nominations for the Western Extension Directors Association Awards of Excellence. Please submit your nominations to Joan Warren at jtwarren@ucanr.edu by the end of the day Friday, Feb. 28.

The purpose of the Western Extension Directors Association (WEDA) Awards of Excellence is to recognize Cooperative Extension outreach education programming that has achieved outstanding accomplishments, results and impacts in addressing contemporary issues in one or more of the 13 Western states and territories. It is anticipated that recipients of the award will include mature programs with documented impacts.

The WEDA Awards of Excellence may be given annually to recognize up to three programs (state and multistate combined) that represent the work of an individual or multidisciplinary team within a single or multistate setting. If warranted, at least one of the awards will be given to a multistate program. Award winners will be asked to present an overview of their programs at the Joint Summer Meeting of the Western Extension Directors and Western Agricultural Experiment Station Directors in July. This year's meeting will be in the Lake Tahoe area.

For more information, including the template for submitting information, go to http://ucanr.edu/sites/ANRUpdate/files/179906.doc. A small group will review the nominations and recommend two programs to be nominated from California.

Over the past few years, UCCE has been very successful, with our Eat Fit and Rangeland Watershed programs receiving Awards of Excellence. I look forward to seeing your nominations.

Associate Vice President
