Get ready for GivingTuesday Dec. 3
GivingTuesday is the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It's an opportunity for people around the world to give through acts of kindness or gifts of time, talent or money.
On Dec. 3, UC ANR is leveraging the energy of GivingTuesday to tell our stories, engage advocates and transform communities and California. Our work brings research-based information and practices to local communities to improve their lives and livelihoods.
For those of us who are encouraging donations for your program or project, Emily Delk, director of Annual Giving and Donor Stewardship, offers some tips:
- Keep current with your editorial calendar and schedule social media posts in advance; remember to tailor the content to your local audience.
- Schedule emails #1 and #2 for Nov. 29 and Dec. 2.
- Use the Canva templates in the Campaign-In-A-Box Toolkit to personalize your social media graphics.
- If you missed the GivingTuesday webinar, go to Tools for Success and enter passcode 1UK0UYJ^.
Give.ucanr.edu is now LIVE! All links from the old url (donate.ucanr.edu) have been redirected to the new site.
- You may also direct donors to local Program/County urls found here and in the toolkit.
- For real-time gift and donor totals, please follow the Leaderboards on the platform.
- 4-H funds are found uniquely on the 4-H giving page and not listed with ANR funds; to make a gift, click the 4-H clover on the give.ucanr.edu homepage.
- Hourly gift notifications will be sent via secure email to county directors, area directors, program directors, REC directors and ANR staff who have previously requested notifications.
GivingTuesday is the single biggest day to welcome new donors. Why? BecauseGivingTuesday connects us to impact. It feels meaningful to join with our communities around our shared values. And when something gives you hope for a better world, you want to be part of it, again and again.
