Tu Tran is the Associate Vice President for the University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources within the University’s Office of the President. In his capacity as AVP, Tu serves as the chief financial and administrative officer for UCANR. His work with UC ANR centers on the support of University’s public service mission and the mission of the Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources to ensure a healthy food system, healthy community and family, and a healthy and sustainable environment.
Prior to Joining the University of California, AVP Tran was an executive in the private sector for over 25 years. During this tenure he held leadership positions in the area of operational and financial management, information technology, human resources, as well as marketing, investment and other central administrative functions, while working with global companies such as Hilton Hotels, Hyatt Hotels, All Nippon Airways, Air France, and Crescent Investments Trust. The last several years of his private sector work was focused on investments strategies, business development, strategic merger and acquisitions, and asset management.
In his present capacity with the University of California, Tu is also the Associate Director, Agriculture Experiment Stations, and Associate Director, Cooperative Extension.
