Description

This workshops highlights module 1 of the newly revised "Pathways to Your Future..." college and career readiness curricula. 

Through a combination of lecture and hands-on activities, this interactive workshop will equip participants with the tools necessary to help youth begin to identify their passions and goals for education beyond high school. Participants will also gain an understanding of how to lead activities that allow youth to learn about themselves and other members of a project by identifying their passions, contributions, successes, and ideas about the future.

Team Building with Breakout Boxes

Description

Breakout Box are a tool to develop and encourage team building among youth members. They have many uses which include developing communication skills, problem solving, and more.

 This session will explore what a Breakout Box is and how it can be used in a 4-H setting.  Participants will then experience the value of a breakout box by participating in a Breakout Box team building exercise.  Additional information will be given on where Breakout Boxes can be purchases and how participants can assemble their own.

Wet and Wild: 4-H Water Wizards Project

Description Looking for a project to educate and excite members in the natural resource field? 4-H Water Wizards is a 12-session science education project about water and its importance to the planet.

Participate in hands-on learning experiences that encourage inquiry, teach basic information about water, and develop awareness and stewardship of this important natural resource.

In this workshop participants will:

  • Become familiar with the 4-H Water Wizards Project including the curriculum, the service learning component, and field trip opportunities.
  • Experience and explore guided inquiry through 4-H Water Wizards activities.
  • Learn how to implement the project in their clubs and communities.
