Wellness Reimbursement Program application period opens March 1 at 9 am
To all UC ANR employees:
Beginning March 1, 2024, the UC ANR Wellness Reimbursement Program will begin accepting applications for reimbursements of personal wellness expenses up to $75.
Administered by UC ANR Staff Assembly Council and its Wellness Committee, and also supported by Academic Assembly Council, the program reimburses UC ANR staff and academics for a variety of wellness items, including but not limited to: exercise equipment, clothing, classes, memberships, personal training, gardening supplies, and books related to health and well-being.
Note that food, medicine, supplements and pet items are not eligible for reimbursement.
To apply, fill out the Wellness Reimbursement Program application, attach appropriate receipts and email the documents to Andrea Rayray at arayray@ucanr.edu.
The application period opens at 9 a.m. on March 1, 2024. Applications submitted prior to the official starting time will not be considered and will be returned to the applicant.
Receipts dated between January 1, 2024 - March 30, 2024, will be accepted.
Applications are due no later than April 1, 2024, and must be submitted for reimbursement in the Aggie Travel system by May 1, 2024.
Applications will be reviewed on first-come, first-served basis and employees are encouraged to submit their applications as early as possible.
The first reimbursements will be announced in mid-March.

The California Master Beekeeper Program, founded by UC Extension apiculturist Elina Niño, received an excellence award at the UC Davis Staff Assembly program. With Chancellor Gary May (center) are CAMBP co-program managers Wendy Mather and Kian Nikzad. Niño and Mather shared the Faculty-Staff Partnership Award. Nikzad, an integral part of the program but ineligible as a new employee to be part of the nomination, accepted the award on behalf of Niño, who was attending a conference in Chile.

Understanding our options for self-care and support may make a significant improvement in our health and well-being. We invite you to explore the generous benefit options that UC has to offer to help ease these stressful times.
- The Academic and Staff Assistance Program (ASAP) - Offers confidential, cost-free assessment, intervention, consultation and referral services to all UC ANR employees and their immediate families.
- Ombuds Office Services - The UC Davis Ombuds Office provides UC ANR staff and faculty with off-the-record conflict management services. The Ombuds Office focuses on helping employees to develop strategies for navigating challenging situations, planning for difficult conversations, and/or addressing conflict. The Ombuds Office operates confidentially, informally, impartially and independently. Staff and faculty can also learn strategies for improving conflict management and communication skills by attending Ombuds sponsored workshops. - Reasonable Accommodations - Reasonable accommodation is a reasonable change or modification that will enable an employee to perform the essential functions of the job. If an employee has a medical condition that affects their ability to work within the conditions of their assignment, it is critical to engage in the interactive process and coordinate with Human Resources to ensure we are accommodating appropriately based on feedback from a medical provider.
- Family and Medical Leave (FML) - UC is committed to supporting faculty and staff who need time off to care for themselves, a family member or to bond with a new child. FML provides job protection when employees need time off for a number of reasons, consistent with federal and state law.
- Center for Advocacy, Resources and Education (CARE) - Provides free, confidential advocacy, support and healing services to survivors of sexual harassment and all forms of sexual violence, including sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and stalking.
- Child and Family Resources – A comprehensive listing of resources available to UC ANR employees including access to legal services, family care services and more.
- Catastrophic Leave Program – This program permits temporary salary and benefit continuation for eligible employees who have exhausted all paid leave credits as a result of a catastrophic illness or injury of an employee or family member, death of a family member, casualty loss suffered due to terrorist attack, fire or natural disaster.

Salary-increase program proposed for policy-covered staff and academic appointees
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to share the good news that UC President Michael Drake has confirmed the decision to proceed with a 2023 general salary increase program for policy-covered staff employees and academic appointees (i.e., employees not represented by a collective bargaining unit) at all locations, contingent upon state funding. In the event the current budget expectations are altered, UC President Drake will provide an updated announcement at that time.
For policy-covered staff employees, salary increases will be implemented as a general increase, where all eligible policy-covered staff employees would receive a 4.6% increase to their base salary. Although this year's salary program for policy-covered staff is not a merit program where performance impacts the amount of increase, the importance of the annual performance review process should not be discounted. All policy-covered staff employees should continue to receive, at least annually, a performance review per policy. This program is separate and distinct from any UC ANR Market Adjustment program. Please review the guidelines and eligibility criteria for policy-covered staff.
For policy-covered academic appointees, the academic salary scales will be increased by a general range adjustment of 4.6%. The adjustment to the academic salary scales will be effective July 1, 2023. The regular peer-review merit advancement process for policy-covered academic appointees will continue per academic personnel policy. This program is separate and distinct from any UC ANR Market Adjustment program. Guidelines and eligibility criteria for policy-covered academic appointees will be available on the website shortly.
Please note that this increase does not apply to represented employees and academic personnel who are receiving separate increases in accordance with applicable collective bargaining agreements.
