Biography
Susana Matias is a Cooperative Extension Specialist in the Department of Nutritional Sciences & Toxicology (NST) at the University of California (UC), Berkeley. She earned a Ph.D. in Epidemiology with Designated Emphasis in International and Community Nutrition from UC Davis, and completed graduate and undergraduate studies in Psychology at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. Her research interests include maternal and child nutrition, immigrant health, food security, obesity and diabetes prevention, nutritional and behavioral interventions, and evaluation research. Prior to joining NST, Dr. Matias held an Assistant Project Scientist appointment in the Department of Nutrition at UC Davis.
