Don Hodel, University of California Cooperative Extension environmental horticulture advisor for Los Angeles County, will retire July 1 after more than three and a half decades. He is a valuable resource in Southern California and has provided me with assistance on many occasions, said Jan C.

He has been called the Elvis of E. coli and the Sinatra of Salmonella, and now Carl Winter, a UC Cooperative Extension food toxicologist for 32 years, will rock and roll his way into retirement on July 1, 2019.

After providing 34 years of service to the California tree crop industry, UC Cooperative Extension advisor and director in Tulare County Kevin Day retires July 1. Day has deep roots in Tulare County.

Alfalfa seed, an agricultural crop critical to the world food supply, shaped the 31-year career of UC Cooperative Extension advisor and director Shannon Mueller. Mueller will retire July 1.
